Australia’s biggest indie winemaker is selling the farm (of sorts)

Casella Wines – Australia’s 3rd largest (and biggest independent) winery, is selling off a HUGE chunk of vineyards, with a huge 7,258 hectares across NSW & Victoria up for sale.

To give an idea of scale, 1 hectare is about the size of an international rugby field – so 7,000 of those. Casella is keeping some of their most prized plots (especially in the Barossa & Riverina) and keeping the vineyards of Morris & Baileys in northern Victoria. But everything else has to go in true ‘rugs rugs rugs ‘style.
