Congratulations to Mr Black, the Australian coffee liqueur makers that have now been snaffled by Diageo.

What's interesting is that it comes with some controversy, as James Atkinson raises in this feature on the Drinks Adventure site. Chiefly, Diageo has been a backer of Mr Black for many years, yet was never disclosed in any form - and there was almost an illusion that there were no backers, let alone a big drinks company.

Do you think it's important for indie craft distillers to disclose if they have backing from a multinational like Diageo?
